Are you wondering if counselling is right for you?
Take a look at the information below or give me a call and we can talk about how I can help you.
WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT
PROCESSING EXPERIENCES
GAINING A NEW PERSPECTIVE
FEELING MORE IN CONTROL
Everyone who comes to counselling will have different life experiences and as result they will have different aims and outcomes that they want to achieve. That is why I always ask you what is important for you to acheive through our sessions and I regularly check in with you to make sure you are getting the most out of our sessions.
I offer counselling for adults who may need some support to process past experiences and trauma, explore and change negative thinking patterns, positively change behaviours and develop tools that will continue to support you when you leave the counselling room, clients often find this to be one of the main benefits of counselling.
Counselling can help you to think about things from a different perspective by identifying things that are causing you distress, challenging old beliefs about yourself and the world, finding ways of coping under pressure and remove the barriers so that you can lead a more fulfilled life with the freedom to be yourself.
Above all, the benefits of counselling can result in you feeling more in control of your life, support you with developing new skills, building resilience to cope with life’s challenges and build a healthy relationship with yourself and others which will help you to feel more empowered to overcome obstacles you might face currently and in the future.
I offer counselling for adults who present for a variety of different reasons. Some people come to counselling to work on specific issues and have goals in mind that they would like to work on such as Anxiety, Stress and Burnout, Managing their anger, Grief and loss or improving self esteem and confidence. If this is you, we can absolutely talk about the impact of these things and work on understanding these issues and then look at how to move forward so you can start to feel better and more in control of your life.
However, some people come to counselling and they don’t know where to start, they know that they feel sad or angry and they feel overwhelmed by experiences they have had in their lives but they feel stuck and don’t know how to move forward. If this is you, then we can explore this in more depth and figure out together what is causing these feelings and how we can help you to move forward.
Having regular a space to reflect and be yourself without judgement is key to acceptance and growth. I will support you while you unravel your thoughts and difficult feelings. Counselling can give you space to organise your thoughts, feelings, needs and priorities, and help you to learn accept things that cannot be changed. This can enable you to make decisions and find more effective ways of coping with the struggles of life.
